How to Reach TU Cricket Ground Kirtipur for NPL 2026

Going to an NPL game in person is worth it. The trick is getting there without missing the first over. Here is what I have learned.

Where it is

The TU International Cricket Ground sits inside the Tribhuvan University campus in Kirtipur, a few kilometres south-west of central Kathmandu. Most people come in from the Balkhu side and up towards the university. Search "TU Cricket Ground Kirtipur" in Google Maps, or use the map link on our venue page.

From Kathmandu and Lalitpur

From Kalanki or Balkhu it is a short ride on a normal day. On match days, it is not a normal day. Give yourself at least an hour more than you think, especially for the 5pm games when office traffic joins the cricket traffic.

From Patan and the Lalitpur side, cross over towards Balkhu and follow the stream of people in team jerseys. You will not get lost.

Public transport, bikes or ride apps

Microbuses and buses run towards Kirtipur, and ride apps work well for getting there. Bikes are what most locals use, but parking near the ground fills early. If you can, share a ride with a group.

Getting home

This is the hard part. A 5pm game finishes around 8:30pm or later, and thousands of people leave at once. Ride app prices jump and drivers are scarce. Either walk a little way from the ground before booking, or wait 20 minutes for the rush to calm down.

Before you leave home

Check the start time on our today's match page, since evening games are now at 5pm. Have your ticket ready on your phone and make sure the battery is charged. Bring a jacket for evening games in November, Kirtipur gets cold once the sun goes down.
